This event is coming up fast!
As part of PoP’s ongoing educational mission, we are proud to present Power Exchange 101, a workshop introducing the basic concepts of D/s, M/s, etc.
Included in the workshop will be discussion of the following:
*Explanation of basic terms
*Tips for folks just starting out
*Tips for negotiating Power Dynamics or Power-based Scenes
*Ideas on finding and vetting partners
*Common missteps
*For those interested in longer-term arrangements, how to look at structures to support this kind of relationship
We will leave time at the end for questions and answers.
This workshop will be taught by [Darren Infinity][https://fetlife.com/users/3121]. An experienced Switch with 13 years experience in the public scene, he is currently the organizer of Perspectives on Power, a Toronto-based education and support group for people interested in power-based Alternative relationships. During his time in the scene, he has been involved in D/s and M/s relationships with multiple labels and configurations, both on the “D-Side” and “s-side”. He has many labels he identifies with, but the current ones he aligns with most closely are Queer, Non-Monogamous, Switch, Master and Submissive.

Hi Folks,
Thanks again for a great discussion last week! Once again, I’m so glad we’ve built this great group of peers to share and connect with.
A couple of housekeeping items I wanted to mention.
1. We don’t have a facilitator for the April meeting. If anyone would like to step forward with a topic to lead the discussion, please drop us a line on Fetlife or at perspectivesonpower@gmail.com.
2. There were a few links and book mentions brought up in the last meeting, and I wanted to provide those to the group. If anyone mentioned anything else that they would like folks to have a link to, please provide it in the comments

Next PoP Meeting – March 1st!
This month, the discussion will be facilitated by Darren Infinity.
Show & Tell – Sharing Our Sources of Inspiration
Since this went over so well last year, we thought we’d try again this year: show & tell!
Every once in a while we’ll come across something that inspires us or renews our interest in D/s or other aspects of our Sexual Identities. It could be an image, a piece of writing, witnessing a ritual, a stimulating conversation with someone, or something else entirely. What was it for you? Did it fulfill a need or answer a question? Did it ignite your D/s desire or re-fuel your passion for it? If so, please share it with the group by bringing it in or telling us about it. For our next meeting, let’s share our inspirations and see if they can inspire others as well!

We are very excited about this month’s meeting! Devanna will be leading a discussion on Sadism. How do we embrace this aspect within ourselves? What tools do we use to further explore our sadism?

A very Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year to everyone! Here’s hoping that 2012 is a great one for all our group members!
The first Perspectives on Power discussion of the New Year will take place on January 5th. This month, Darren will be facilitating a discussion on each of our goals and hopes for the new year. What do we want to learn? How are we hoping to grow? What steps are we planning to take to get there? How can we support each other’s hopes and dreams? And how does this relate to our roles in the Power Dynamics we engage in?

Sorry everyone for the lateness of this posting!
The next Perspectives on Power discussion will take place on December 1st. This month, squeaktoy will be facilitating a discussion on
“equality”. Given that we live in a nominally egalitarian society, how do we put aside expectations of equality in our Power relationships? Do we negotiate our relationships from equal footing? This and other ideas around equality will be explored by the group.
